Waterdown Santa Claus Parade detours 18 WATERDOWN on November 26th

The 2016 Waterdown Santa Claus parade will be held on Saturday, November 26th, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Due to the road closures for the parade route 18 WATERDOWN will be operating on a heavily modified routing from 5:00 PM until end of service.

As a result of the parade, the following road closures will be in effect from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM:

  • Parkside Drive from Braeheid Avenue to Mill Street
  • Centre Road from Concession # 5 East to Parkside Drive
  • Hamilton Street from Parkside Drive to Dundas Street
  • Dundas Street from Hamilton Street to Main Street
  • Main Street from Dundas Street to Parkside Drive

Waterdown Santa Claus Parade Detours 18 WATERDOWN on November 28th

The 2015 Waterdown Santa Claus parade will be held on Saturday, November 28th, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The parade will assemble on Hamilton Street at John Street. The parade will depart at 6:30 pm and will proceed south on Hamilton, east on Dundas Street (Highway # 5), north on Main Street, west on Parkside Drive, and south on Hamilton Street to Waterdown Memorial Park.

As a result of the parade, the following road closures will be in effect from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM:

  • Parkside Drive from Braeheid Avenue to Mill Street
  • Centre Road from Concession # 5 East to Parkside Drive
  • Hamilton Street from Parkside Drive to Dundas Street
  • Dundas Street from Hamilton Street to Main Street
  • Main Street from Dundas Street to Parkside Drive

In an effort to maintain the scheduled GO Station departures times as best as possible, two different detour routes will be operated along with a special timetable from approximately 5:30 PM to the end of service. If you are travelling from the GO Station, make sure you ride the appropriate detour that services the side of Waterdown you are travelling to.

18 WATERDOWN Stops Added in Aldershot


As a result of a request by north Aldershot residents, the Hamilton Street Railway has agreed to additional stops on Waterdown Road.

While the HSR stops only at Mountain Brow Road, as of June 29th the bus also stops at Rennick Road, Flatt Road and Craven Avenue. This additional services will be Monday to Friday during peak periods.

Route 18 WATERDOWN will begin expanded service, including full day and Saturday sercice in September.

Extended, Satuday and Bi-Directional Service Coming to 18 WATERDOWN in September 2015

Route 18 WATERDOWN will see some MAJOR improvements when the fall schedules take effect this September, including increased service, Saturday service and bi-directional service. The route will not run in a clockwise loop and buses will now travel in both directions through the community of Waterdown.

Several new bus stops will be installed on select collector streets, along with new bus stops on the south side of Dundas Street and the north side of Parkside Drive. A new bus stop will also be established beside Walmart. Route 18 WATERDOWN buses will now operate in both directions, instead of the one-way clockwise routing currently operated on Dundas and on Parkside.

Service frequency will be 30 minutes in both directions. Service will be provided on Weekdays between 5:30 a.m and 8:30 p.m and on Saturdays between 8:30 a.m and 8:30 p.m. All buses will operate via Mill Street and Waterdown Road to/from the Aldershot GO/VIA Station, where connections to GO, VIA and Burlington Transit can be made.

Service will no longer be provided on Evans or on Highway #6. There will be no service provided on Sundays and Holidays.
