Stoney Creek Santa Claus Parade Detours Routes 5/58 on December 3rd

The Santa Claus Parade will be held in Stoney Creek on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016. The parade will result in the total closure of King Street between Centennial Pkwy and Gray Road from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Gray Road between Highway # 8 and King Street will also be closed as a result of the parade from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

2016 Remembrance Day Detours – Stoney Creek

There will be Remembrance Day ceremonies in Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster and Stoney Creek on Friday, November 11, 2016 affecting transit routes in the City.

The Royal Canadian Legion will be holding the Stoney Creek Remembrance Day parade. The parade will leave the parking lot of Sir Frances Xavier Church at 10:30 A.M. and will continue to the Cenotaph at Highway # 8 and King Street. After a short memorial service, the parade will return to the Church via King Street for approximately 12:00 PM.

As a result of the parade, the following roads will be closed to all traffic from 10:30 AM to 12 noon:

  • King Street between Highway #8 and Green Road
  • Highway #8 at the intersection of King Street

The Royal Canadian Legion is hosting the Stoney Creek Remembrance Day parade. The parade will leave the parking lot of Sir Frances Xavier Church at 10:30 am and will continue to the Cenotaph at Highway #8 and King Street. After a short memorial service, the parade will return to the Church via King Street at approximately 11:30 am.

The following roads will be closed to all traffic for a brief amount of time:

  • King Street between Highway #8 and Green Road
  • Highway #8 at the intersection of King Street

Stoney Creek Detours of 5/58 due to Bridge Closure Changes Effective October 9th

The King Street East bridge located in Stoney Creek, west of the Jones Street interestion, has been closed to traffic for bridge rehabilitation work since July 16th. As a result of the bridge closure, buses operating on 5 DELAWARE and 58 STONEY CREEK LOCAL have been detoured while the bridge has been closed to traffic.

Effective Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the beginning of service until approximately the end of September weather permitting, the route 5 DELAWARE detour in Stoney Creek and subsequent End-of-Line will be modified due to the resumption of school at RL Hyslop Elementary School.

Effective Friday, October 9, 2015 at approximately 5 pm, King Street (Stoney Creek) will be opened in the westbound direction only between New Mountain Road and Lake Avenue.

During the closure period, buses operating on the affected routes will be detoured as follows:

Stoney Creek Bridge Closure Detours 5/58 July 16th thru September

Starting at 6:00am on July 16th, the King Street East bridge located in Stoney Creek, west of the Jones Street interestion, will be closed to traffic for bridge rehabilitation work. As a result of the bridge closure, buses operating on 5 DELAWARE and 58 STONEY CREEK LOCAL will be detoured while the bridge is closed to traffic.

This work is scheduled to be completed in mid-September 2015, at which time the bridge will reopen to traffic. During the closure period, buses operating on the affected routes will be detoured as follows:

King Street Construction in Stoney Creek Could Delay HSR Thru December

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 15th, the City of Hamilton’s Public Works Department will begin work on King Street in Stoney Creek between Battlefield Drive and Applewood Avenue. The work involves the installation of a new water main, full road reconstruction and streetscaping work throughout the downtown core.

Lane restrictions will be required to complete this work, which could result in delays in the area. HSR routes 5 DELAWARE and 58 STONEY CREEK LOCAL may also experience delays in the area.

Revised 43 STONE CHURCH Detour at Valley Park Effective March 5th

Route 43 STONE CHURCH will be on detour as the bridge over Felker’s Creek on Marston Street in Heritage Green will be closed to all traffic for approximately two months. Effective with the start of service on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, the detour for route 43 as a result of the emergency Marston Street bridge closure will be revised. This revision should allow Operators to maintain the scheduled times better and eliminate missed connections in Heritage Green.

Buses will be detouring via Mud Street in both directions as shown on the map. All bus stops on Marston Street and Gordon Drummond will be temporarily out of service. Valley Park Loop will be serviced by route 43 STONE CHURCH buses in both directions (to Lime Ridge Mall and to Saltfleet School). Route 43 will not service Isaac Brock in the westbound (to Lime Ridge Mall) direction due to the bridge closure.
