The runners proceed north on Third Road East, east on Green Mountain Road, north on Tapleytown Road, east on Ridge Road, south on Fifth Road East, west on Highland Road, north on Albion Road, north on the Red Hill Valley Parkway exiting at Barton Street. Runners will exit onto Beach Blvd. near Van Wagners and continue northwest (Burlington bound) on the lake side of Beach Blvd. The runners will then enter the Beach trail near Eastport Drive and return via the Beach trail to Confederation Park.

The half marathon (21 km) starts at Dofasco Park at 8:15 AM.

Fall 2015 Service Enhancements [UPDATED 7/19]

Proposed changes for FALL 2015 are summarized below. These changes represent Phase 1 of the Ten Year (2015-2024) Local Transit Strategy. Phase 1, to be rolled out over three periods (September 2015, March 2016 & September 2016) is comprised of actions designed to address current system deficiencies by applying the limited additional vehicles and operators where we will get the best return on investment.

System deficiencies were identified by analyzing various data samples like schedule deviation and passenger loadings (among many other data sets). A sample of that data can be seen in the tables on the following pages. Additionally, input from Operations and the passengers was equally important and valuable.

This weekend, the James Mountain Road escarpment access (West 5th Street/James Street South) will be closed to accommodate ongoing construction as part of the West 5th Street project. The closure is required so crews can safely complete retaining wall work along the escarpment access.

The access will be closed on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

As a result, routes 21 UPPER KENILWORTH, 33 SANATORIUM and 35 COLLEGE will be on detour during these times.

21 UPPER KENILWORTH no Longer Servicing Mohawk 4 Ice Centre

21 UPPER KENILWORTH bus at Mohawk 4 Ice Centre on February 18th, 2014.

In February 2014, route 21 UPPER KENILWORTH was given a limited extension to the Mohawk 4 Ice Centre on Mountain Brow Blvd. The extension ran on Tuesdays & Thursdays only, and only on the trip which ordinarily arrived at the Mountain Brow Loop at 7:45am. This change was not added to the timetable.

The planning department had this to say about the extension. “When it was originally put in, it was to help Sherwood students get to a hockey program at the arena. They did not need a ride home so the extension was helpful.”

The extension was stopped for the summer and was changed to on demand only for the fall and beyond. The HSR did not receive any more requests for additional trips to be extended, and the service has been discontinued.

No other HSR service is provided to Mohawk 4 Ice Centre.
