2014 Remembrance Day Detours – Downtown Hamilton

detour_small

There will be Remembrance Day Celebrations in Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster and Stoney Creek on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.

In Hamilton, the ceremonies will be held at a temporary cenotaph on the west side of the forecourt at Hamilton City Hall. As a result, Main Street directly in front of City Hall (between Bay and Summers Lane) will be closed between 10:55 AM and 11:10 AM. Traffic on Bay Street will be maintained during this time.

As a result, several routes will be temporarily detoured during the closure.

The route detours are as follows below:

1A KING and 10A B-LINE EXPRESS Extended to University Plaza Starting June 23rd

Beginning on Monday, June 23rd, 2014, all route 1A KING and 10A B-LINE EXPRESS buses will be extended from McMaster Medical Centre to the University Plaza terminal in Dundas. The extension comes as a result of construction at the McMaster Medical Centre entrance and the request from the University to remove all buses from the entrance.

Director of Transit Don Hull reported to council back in February that the city had received notice from the University of this request. The HSR’s emergency detour routing for these routes, which are currently being used as construction began last week, were not recommended as an extended detour would greatly impact local neighbourhood streets.

1A KING and 10A B-LINE EXPRESS Detoured at McMaster Starting May 1st

detour_small

Effective Thursday, May 1, 2014 there will be construction work at the Children’s Emergency Department entrance at McMaster University Medical Centre (MUMC) resulting in restricted roadway access. As a result, routes 1A KING and 10A B-LINE EXPRESS will be on detour. Buses will service all existing bus stops along the detour routings.
