Summer 2017 Schedule Changes

The Hamilton Street Railway has issued the Summer 2017 edition of their quarterly Bus News online. There are changes to the schedules, including the return of summer service on multiple routes.

Below are the changes that will take effect Sunday June 25th, 2017.


This route has been revised during the peak periods on weekdays to connect better with GO Trains in the peak direction (Eastbound to Toronto in the morning and Westbound from Toronto in the afternoon).

FREE service will resume on Weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Service runs from Sunday, June 25th until Monday, September 5th, 2016.


The below routes will operate on special summer schedules and will have REDUCED frequencies from June 25th until September 2nd, 2017 inclusive.

Peak period frequency has been reduced from 15 minutes to 20 minutes between buses.

Peak period frequency has been reduced from 20 minutes to 30 minutes between buses.

Daytime frequency (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM) has been reduced from 15 minutes to 20 minutes between buses.

Schedule will be adjusted to incorporate travel to and from Wild Waterworks during their summer season. Service frequency will be reduced from 45 minutes to 60 minutes during the summer.


Canada Day & Tall Ships Canada 150 events

Hours for route 99 WATERFRONT SHUTTLE be extended on Friday, June 30th and Saturday July 1st for the Canada 150 events. Operating one hour earlier and finishing three hours later than normal schedule.

Additional Tall Ship and Canada Day Shuttles will operate on Saturday July 1st, bringing customers from downtown (James/King) to Bayfront Park, Pier 8 and Pier 4 throughout the day and evening. Parking shuttles will pick up customers along a route; stopping at Bayfront Park, Eastwood Park, Pier 8, Pier 4, James North GO Station and then back to Bayfront Park allowing customers to access all events taking place in the area.


The Summer Youth Pass is offered on PRESTO only. This pass is for elementary and secondary school students.

Passes will be available to load after June 17th (until July 14th) and are valid from July 1st to August 31st, 2017. The cost of the pass is $83.60 for the summer – that’s a savings of $83.60! If you don’t already have a PRESTO card, there is an initial $6.00 fee to obtain a PRESTO card.

Students must present a valid photo ID card when boarding any bus when paying with a student fare.

As this pass is available exclusively on PRESTO, it is only available where HSR PRESTO period passes can be loaded. These locations are:
