Fall 2018 HSR schedules feature route changes, added service

The fall HSR schedules take effect on Sunday September 2, 2018, and there are a few nota

ble changes. Fall schedules are being adjusted, service during peak hours has been extended on some routes and frequency has been added. Changes are being made across all routes, with the exception of 1 KING, 2 BARTON, and limited service routes 12 WENTWORTH, 16 ANCASTER, 18 WATERDOWN, and 42 MOHAWK EAST.

Notable Fall Schedules Changes

  • Weekday – All 5C DELAWARE peak service buses which currently terminate at West Hamilton Loop will now go to Meadowlands.
  • Saturday – Early AM service will operate more frequently to 5 Jones, 5E Quigley at Greenhill and Dundas ends of lines.  Early morning 5C trips will be extended to the Meadowlands with two earlier departures in the morning at 4:42am and 5:12am.

  • Weekday – Early evening service between 8:00pm thru 11:00pm is increased from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes.
  • Saturday – Early AM service increased from 60 minutes to 30 minutes and early evening service between 8:00pm and 10:00pm increased from 45 minutes to 30 minutes. Service frequency after 10:00pm reduced from 45 minutes to 60 minutes. Final departures of the night pushed back later.

  • Weekday – New mid-day service added. Service now operates between 5:25am until 7:30pm.  The peak period frequency in the morning has been extended and will now run at a 20 minute frequency between 7:05am – 9:05am. Afternoon peak period frequency has been increased from 30 minutes to 20 minutes between 2:05pm – 4:51pm



  • Sundays/Holidays –  additional service

  • Saturday – Morning frequency has been increased from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes between 5:45am – 8:45am. Evening frequency between 8:15pm – 10:15pm has been increased from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes.
  • Sundays/Holidays – Morning service starts earlier at 6:00am and frequency has been increased from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes between 6:00am – 8:30am. Early evening frequency between 7:00pm – 9:00pm has been increased from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes.

  • Sundays/Holidays – Service added to Glancaster Loop. Previously all Sunday service was on branch 34A to Upper Horning Loop. New service has been added between 7:00am – 6:00pm with service alternating between Upper Horning Loop and Glancaster Loop.

  • 44 RYMAL will operate on McClure Rd. in both directions instead of continuing on Garner Rd. W. to Duff’s Corners.
  • On weekdays, this route will (finally) interline with route 56 CENTENNIAL during the peak and mid-day time periods.

  • Weekday – More frequent service in early AM and early evening but less frequent service in late evening.  The one way looping in the late evening is eliminated.
  • Saturdays – Service frequency increased from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes between 5:00am – 9:30pm. Service redued after 10:00pm to two buses an hour. The one way looping in the late evening is eliminated.
  • Sundays/Holidays: Additional service with frequency increased from two buses per hour to four buses per hour.


Route 56 CENTENNIAL will service the Riverdale Neighbourhood in both the northbound and southbound directions as part of a pilot from September 2018 through April 2019.

  • On weekdays, the bus will operate between Eastgate Square and Walmart (via Riverdale) every 30 minutes.  The Lakeland loop will not be serviced on weekdays. On weekdays, this route will interline with route 44 RYMAL during the peak and mid-day time periods.
  • On Saturdays and Sundays, the route will service Lakeland loop every 45 minutes via Riverdale.

  • Weekday and Saturdays – Less frequent service in late evening.
  • Sundays/Holidays additional service

 

Stoney Creek TransCab

Stoney Creek TransCab will now have service on Sundays and Holidays from 8:00am – 6:00pm. Weekday and Saturday hours remain 5:00am to 1:20am.

Glanbrook Trans-Cab Improvements

Starting June 24, Glanbrook Trans-Cab extended service hours to run Monday to Saturday between 6:00am and 2:00am and on Sundays between 6:00am and 1:00am. This additional Trans-Cab service will improve connectivity to the airport, and will make it even easier for you to access the airport’s new summer program of 24 weekly flights by Swoop Airlines.

Other updates:

  • Bus Check and Wayside (digital screens inside our terminals) will now display up-to-the-minute information about cancelled service.
  • On-street signage (LED panels outside of terminals) will reflect service cancellations by removing information about buses that are not in service.
